Myrto Dimitrokali is a Researcher at the Department of Science, Technology and Gender Studies at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), working on the ERC project Living with Radiation: The Role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the History of Radiation Protection (HRP-IAEA). Her research focuses on the historical interplay between the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) during the Cold War.
Education:
- MA in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)
- BA in Greek Philology
Research Interests:
Her work lies at the intersection of Cold War nuclear history, science diplomacy, and the gendered dimensions of science and technology. She also explores the historical sociology of international organizations shaping radiation protection standards and the geopolitical implications of nuclear research centers.
Current Work:
Myrto’s research investigates the early Cold War dynamics of radiation protection governance, emphasizing the ICRP-IAEA relationship and its global policy impacts.
