معرفی
Dr. Myrta Grüning is an Associate Professor at the School of Mathematics and Physics, Queen's University Belfast, and a member of the Centre for Quantum Materials and Technologies (CQMT). She specializes in theoretical spectroscopy of crystalline solids, nanostructures, interfaces, and 2D materials, employing density-functional theory and many-body perturbation theory (GW approximation, Bethe-Salpeter equation). Her research focuses on predicting and developing computational tools for material properties.
She is actively involved in supervising PhD students, with funded positions available through the MSCA Doctoral Network - TIMES. Grüning has led and contributed to multiple research projects, including studies on thermoelectric efficiency, strain-engineered transistors, and electronic structure methodologies. She has published extensively in top journals like Advanced Materials and Physical Review B, with a focus on computational materials science and quantum materials.
Grüning holds editorial roles, organizes workshops, and participates in peer-review panels for organizations like the European Research Council. Her work bridges computational theory with experimental insights, advancing the understanding of material properties at atomic and electronic scales.
