Myra Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Aberdeen. She holds a BSc from the University of Aberdeen and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), communication networks, and swarm intelligence. Notable projects include the NEVOCAB initiative (2014–2015), funded by EADS Innovation Works, which explored network-aware evolutionary coordination for aerial backbone systems.
Her work emphasizes integrating swarm intelligence principles into communication networks and UAV coordination. Recent contributions include advancements in genetic algorithms for UAV swarm coordination and biomimetic routing protocols inspired by honeybee foraging behaviors. She has co-edited conference proceedings on robotics and adaptive behavior, reflecting her active role in the academic community.
