Mylène Garin is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Humanities, specializing in Narratology, Seventeenth-Century Literature, and intersections between Literature and Material Culture, Politics, and Gender/Aesthetics. Her role involves research on literary games and poetics in the early-modern novel context.

Her research focuses on early-modern literary forms, particularly exploring how game-like structures and material culture influence narrative poetics, political discourse, and gender dynamics in 17th-century novels. Recent work includes the project Literary Games, Poetics and the Early-Modern Novel (JEUX), which examines ludic elements in textual traditions.
Professional experience includes project management at the French Institute in Prague (2022-2024), radio journalism at Český rozhlas (2022), and archival work in Germany and Czech Republic institutions. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Oslo.
