Mykhailo Yuriyovych Osipov

Mykhailo Yuriyovych Osipov is an Associate Professor at the Department of Integrated Welding Technologies and Structural Modeling within the Engineering-Physics Faculty at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University. With over 45 years of experience at the university since 1975, he has established himself as a respected expert in materials science and welding technology.

Dr. Osipov holds a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree (equivalent to PhD) and has dedicated his career to researching metallurgical and materials science aspects of abrasive wear, development of materials for surfacing under intense abrasive conditions, and technologies to increase wear resistance. His academic journey began at the Zaporizhzhia Machine-Building Institute named after V.Ya. Chubar, where he graduated in 1975 with a specialization in 'Equipment and technology of welding production.'

His research primarily focuses on the development and application of wear-resistant materials, particularly for parts subject to abrasive wear at elevated temperatures. He has published extensively on topics related to high-carbon steels, carbide steels, and the effects of heat treatment on material properties. His work often involves collaboration with researchers like Brykov M.N., Kapustyan O.E., and Akrytova T.O.

Dr. Osipov has contributed significantly to the field through more than 80 scientific works, including 2 patents and 3 author's certificates. His research has practical applications in industries dealing with abrasive wear, such as refractory production and construction materials manufacturing.

Among his notable contributions are studies on the influence of alloying steel-bond and heat treatment on wear resistance, the structure and properties of iron-chromium-carbon carbide steel, and technologies for strengthening mold dies used in the production of refractory and construction products.
