Muzammil Behzad

Muzammil Behzad is a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Oulu in Finland, affiliated with the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. He is fully funded and works under the supervision of Prof. Guoying Zhao on deep learning applications for 4D facial and micro-expressions.

Education:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (partially funded), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Pakistan (2013), with distinctions as double medalist and valedictorian.
• M.S. in Electrical Engineering (fully funded), King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia (2017).

His research focuses on signal and image processing, machine learning, and deep learning for facial microexpressions, with applications in human-machine interaction, machine vision, and artificial intelligence.

He has held academic and research positions at Brown University (Feb - May 2019), Pukyong National University (PKNU, May - August 2018), and COMSATS University Islamabad (Sep 2013 - Aug 2014, Sep 2016 - May 2018). Previously, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at KFUPM (2015-2016) and was a visiting research scholar at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST, summers 2015-2016).
