Muyang Chen

Dr. Muyang Chen is an Assistant Professor at Peking University's School of International Studies, specializing in infrastructure finance, development banking, and state-market relations. She earned dual bachelor's degrees from Peking University and Waseda University, an MA from UC Berkeley, and a PhD from the University of Washington.

Her research examines:

• China's development banking in global context
• Capitalization reforms in Japan/Germany
• Policy banks' role in export credit and aid

Publications focus on comparative development finance, analyzing China's policy banks and regulatory adaptations. Her 2017 article contrasts capitalization models in China and Japan.
