معرفی
Dr. Mustafa Kaya is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geological Engineering in the Faculty of Mines at Istanbul Technical University. His research focuses on economic geology, geochemistry, and magmatic-hydrothermal mineralization, with a specialty in NW Anatolia geology. He has received multiple academic awards, including the ITU Academic Performance Awards in 2023 and 2024, and holds memberships in prestigious organizations like the European Association of Geochemistry and the Geological Society of America.
Education:
- PhD in Geological Engineering (Istanbul Technical University, 2020)
- MSc in Geological Engineering (Istanbul Technical University, 2017)
- BSc in Geological Engineering (Istanbul Technical University, 2012)
Research Interests: Mustafa Kaya’s work integrates multidisciplinary approaches to study ore deposits, magmatic-hydrothermal systems, and rare earth elements (REE). He explores topics such as carbonatite intrusions, skarn mineralization, and fluid inclusion dynamics. His recent studies include the Kestanbol Magmatic Complex (NW Anatolia) and gold-sulfide mineralization in Egypt’s Eastern Desert.
Publications: His articles highlight advancements in understanding magmatic processes, mineralization mechanisms, and geochemical signatures. Key themes include REE enrichment, fluid inclusion analysis, and tectonic contexts of ore deposits.
Awards:
- ITU Academic Performance Awards (2023, 2024)
- Mustafa Kaya Prize (2024, 2025)
Labs/Teams: He collaborates on projects like lithium carbonate production from clay waste and machine learning-based mineral exploration in Egypt’s Eastern Desert.
