Murat Vural

Murat Vural is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Undergraduate Affairs in the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology's Armour College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. His research investigates mechanical responses and failure in materials under extreme conditions, including high-strain-rate loading, multiaxial stress, and thermal effects.

Recent work focuses on yield surface modeling of cellular solids, thermo-mechanical coupling in metals, and dental composites. His publications emphasize experimental mechanics and computational modeling, with applications in aerospace and biomedical materials.
