Murat Kantarcioglu

Murat Kantarcioglu is a Professor of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, affiliated with the College of Engineering. He is also a Faculty Fellow at the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) and directs the Data Security and Privacy Lab. Previously, he held the Ashbel Smith Professorship at the University of Texas at Dallas. His research focuses on data and AI security, privacy, blockchain, and cybersecurity. He has received notable awards, including the NSF CAREER Award and IEEE Technical Achievement Award, and is a Fellow of AAAS and IEEE.

Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science (Purdue University), B.S. in Computer Engineering (Middle East Technical University).
