معرفی
Dr. Mujan Seif is a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering Group. Her work focuses on stochastic mechanical modeling of materials under extreme conditions, particularly in space exploration, hypersonics, and nuclear energy. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Kentucky, where she was a NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Fellow. Her research integrates computational methods to study material behavior in harsh environments, including scandate cathodes and metallic foams.
Education: B.S. (2017) in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Kentucky; post-baccalaureate at the University of Michigan. Current projects involve discrete dislocation dynamics for mechanical testing and diffraction analysis. She has presented at conferences such as TMS Annual Meeting and the International Conference on Multiscale Materials Modelling.
Research interests emphasize mesoscale material behavior, with a focus on designing materials resistant to micrometeoroid impacts and hypervelocity threats. Her work bridges atomistic calculations and macro-scale modeling, addressing challenges in thermal protection systems and cathode performance.
Notable awards include the NASA fellowship. She has contributed to interdisciplinary education initiatives, such as the Shape Memory Polymers hands-on project. Her lab affiliation is the Oxford e-Research Centre, where she collaborates on computational mechanics and materials engineering.
