Muin Khoury is an Adjunct Professor at Emory University, affiliated with the Department of Epidemiology and Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health. He is the Founding Director of the Office of Public Health Genomics at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). His academic journey includes a B.S. in Biology/Chemistry and medical degree from the American University of Beirut, followed by a Ph.D. in Human Genetics/Genetic Epidemiology and Medical Genetics training from Johns Hopkins University.
Khoury's research focuses on genetic epidemiology, public health genomics, and precision public health. He has authored influential works such as Genetics and Public Health in the 21st Century and Human Genome Epidemiology. His recent publications emphasize integrating genomics with big data and precision medicine to address health equity and pandemic response.
