Muhammad Rifky Wicaksono is an alumnus of the Magister Juris (MJur) program at the University of Oxford, graduating in 2017. Prior to his studies, he served as an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His academic journey combines a focus on legal education, comparative law, and European Union law, driven by his aspiration to contribute to legal academia in Indonesia.
He emphasized the Oxford tutorial system's intellectual rigor, the program's structured depth in specialized legal areas, and the opportunity to learn from prominent legal scholars as key motivations for pursuing the MJur. As the 2016/2017 MJur Class Representative, he engaged actively with peers and faculty, fostering a collaborative academic environment.
Rifky’s research interests revolve around bridging civil and common law systems, informed by his exposure to European Union jurisprudence and Oxford’s pedagogical approach. Post-Oxford, he aims to return to academia to teach law in Indonesia, leveraging his interdisciplinary training to address legal challenges in his home country.
He holds the Jardine-Oxford Scholarship, reflecting his academic excellence and commitment to legal studies. His narrative underscores a dedication to impactful legal education and scholarly contribution.
