Muhammad Fahad Ehsan is a Research Scientist and Part-Time Lecturer at Northeastern University's College of Engineering, specializing in sustainable materials for environmental applications. His research focuses on electrochemical water treatment, biomass utilization, and carbon management using nature-inspired material designs.
He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and leads research in the PROTECT Superfund Research Program. His work develops self-sustained photoelectrochemical systems for contaminant removal and water disinfection, with emphasis on circular economy principles.
Dr. Ehsan has published extensively on electrocatalytic water treatment, biomass-derived materials, and energy storage technologies. Recent articles demonstrate innovations in biochar-based electrodes, electrochemical CO2 sequestration, and solid-state battery electrolytes.
Honors include recognition as a 2023 Stanford Top 2% Global Scientist, 2017 NRPU Research Award from Pakistan's Higher Education Commission, and multiple academic excellence awards from Chinese institutions.
