Muhammad Atif Ur Rehman

Dr. Muhammad Atif Ur Rehman is a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in the Department of Computing & Mathematics at Manchester Metropolitan University. He holds a B.S in Electronics & Communication from University of Lahore, M.S in Computer Science from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, and PhD in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Hongik University.

His research focuses on cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems, distributed networking, cloud/edge computing, Metaverse technologies, and IoT. He develops efficient protocols for in-network computation to minimize traffic congestion and enhance security.

Recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on vehicular networks (VANETs), microservices-based computing, Metaverse security, 6G networks, and NDN architectures. Research employs AI/ML techniques including deep reinforcement learning for intrusion detection.
