معرفی
Dr. Muhammad Arif is an Assistant Professor in the Petroleum Engineering Department at Khalifa University's College of Engineering. He previously worked at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. His expertise lies in rock/fluid interactions at multiple scales, with a focus on applications in enhanced oil recovery, CO2 and H2 geo-storage, and unconventional reservoirs.
- Ph.D., Curtin University, Australia (2017)
- M.Sc., University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Pakistan (2012)
- B.Sc., UET, Pakistan (2009)
His research spans critical energy transition topics, including CO2 and H2 geo-storage, alongside traditional petroleum engineering domains like enhanced oil recovery and unconventional reservoirs. He leads two major research projects on rock/fluid interactions, funded by the KU-KFUPM Twinning Research Program, Faculty Start-up Research Award, and Khalifa University Research Excellence Grant.
Scientific honors include:
- Inclusion in Stanford's Top 2% Scientists in Energy (2021-2022)
- Khalifa University Research Excellence Award in the College of Engineering
As an academic leader, Dr. Arif serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Petroleum Science & Engineering and has acted as Guest Editor for Frontiers in Earth Science. He has mentored numerous graduate students and researchers in petroleum engineering and energy storage technologies.
