Mubarik Kassim Rabiu

Dr. Mubarik Kassim Rabiu is a Researcher at the Department of Sociology of Technology and Environment at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, part of Faculty 5. He holds a Master of Science in Development Studies from Lund University and a Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of Ghana. His research focuses on circular economy transitions, sustainable practices, and environmental sociology.

Current roles include leading the C-PlaNeT EU project and contributing to BTU’s Sociology of Technology and Environment team. He previously worked as a Research Associate at TU Berlin and the Institute for Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER).

His work examines consumer behavior in circular economies, plastic waste reduction, and e-waste management in global contexts. Key themes include social practices enabling sustainability, policy interventions, and community-driven solutions.

Publications span circular economy applications in food industries, plastic reduction strategies, and informal sector challenges in e-waste management. His research bridges sociological theory with real-world environmental policy implementation.
