Mourad Zghal is an Associate Professor at IMT Télécom SudParis (Polytechnic Institute of Paris) and a teacher-researcher affiliated with CESI LINEACT. His educational background includes a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering (2000) and a Telecommunications Engineer degree (1995) from Sup'Com, University of Carthage, followed by an HDR (2008) from the same institution.
His research focuses on Photonics, Optical Communications, High-speed Networks, and Smart Cities, with expertise in photonic crystal fibers, supercontinuum generation, and spatial mode multiplexing. His work bridges IoT, Data Processing, and Network Optimization, as evidenced by his supervision of 9 defended theses and one ongoing project integrating BIM with virtual/augmented reality systems.

Zghal serves on the LINEACT Scientific Council and is Vice-President of the International Commission on Optics. His recent publications analyze nonlinear coupling in WDM systems, phase-sensitive equalization, and turbulence-resistant data transmission, reflecting his commitment to advancing fiber optics and communication technologies.
