Moura Jean-Marc

Moura Jean-Marc is a Professor of Francophone Literatures and Comparative Literature at Paris Ouest Nanterre (Paris 10). He previously held academic positions at Lille University (until 2008), Paris III-Sorbonne nouvelle, and Strasbourg II. He co-directs the Observatoire des écritures françaises et francophones and is affiliated with the EA 1586 research unit. His research focuses on Imagology, Literary Humor, European Literary Exoticism, and Postcolonial Studies.

He holds a PhD from Paris III-Sorbonne nouvelle (1981) and is an Agrégé des Lettres modernes. He has been honored with the prix Gay-Lussac-Humboldt (2003) and a Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Flanders (2011-2012). He serves on editorial boards, including the series ‘Littérature et mondialisation’ (Classiques Garnier) and Revue de Littérature Comparée.

His scholarly contributions span over 20 books and edited volumes, including L’Image du tiers monde dans le roman français contemporain (1992) and Le Sens littéraire de l’humour (2010). Recent articles explore comparative methodologies and postcolonial frameworks in Francophone literature.
