Mose Bevilacqua

Dr Mose Bevilacqua serves as a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering within the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire, where he has been employed since 2013. His academic journey began with a BEng in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in 2005, followed by an EPSRC-funded PhD at University College London and the London Centre for Nanotechnology.

Bevilacqua's research centers on carbon-based materials, specializing in diamond variants (single-crystal, polycrystalline, nanodiamond) and their electrical, thermal, and magnetic properties. His work spans applications from ultra-violet photodetectors and gas sensors to phase change materials for thermal energy storage. Recent fingerprint analysis confirms core expertise in Diamond Material Science (100%), Electrical Properties (63%), and Phase Change Materials (60%), with significant contributions to Impedance Spectroscopy and Nanocrystalline Diamond research.

His 15 publications (2008-2025) reveal two dominant research trajectories since 2022: (1) magnetic field treatments for enhancing metal alloy performance (friction/wear resistance and cavitation erosion), and (2) functionalized nanomaterials for thermal energy storage in buildings. A notable 2022 education paper demonstrates his parallel engagement with engineering pedagogy through block teaching methodologies.
