معرفی
Moritz Kraemer is a Professor of Epidemiology & Data Science at the University of Oxford's Department of Biology and Pandemic Sciences Institute. He serves as Lead Researcher for the Oxford Martin Programme on Pandemic Genomics and is an AI and Machine Learning Fellow at Reuben College. Additionally, he co-founded Global.health, an open-source data platform for pandemic response coordination.
His research integrates mathematical modeling, statistical inference, and phylodynamics to study infectious disease dynamics. Key interests include:
- Human mobility patterns and disease transmission
- Climate change impacts on pathogen spread
- Machine learning applications in digital surveillance
- Evolutionary dynamics of viruses (dengue, Zika, SARS-CoV-2, mpox)
- Resource optimization for global disease control
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on pandemic genomics, AI-driven epidemic forecasting, and climate-disease interactions, with emphasis on real-time public health applications.
Awards:
- Google AI Award for advancing health research through machine learning
Research Leadership: Directs a multidisciplinary team with expertise in network science, phylogenetics, and software engineering. Current advisees include Joseph Tsui, Rhys Inward, and Sumali Bajaj. Research is funded by Wellcome Trust, NIH, Google.org, Rockefeller Foundation, and European Union.
