Dr. Moreno Mitrović is a Senior Researcher at the Leibniz-Centre General Linguistics (ZAS) in Berlin, working within the DFG project B06 'Register in the cross-linguistic diachrony of logical particles' as part of the CRC 1412 Research Area 4 'Semantics & Pragmatics'. His research explores how humans construct linguistic structures and interpret/communicate through formal language translations. He holds a PhD in Theoretical Linguistics from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil from Cambridge, and a BA from the University of York.
His research interests focus on formal semantics, language variation, historical linguistics, and pragmatics, with particular emphasis on logical particles and syntactic-semantic interfaces. Recent publications analyze grammaticalization, adjectival typology, and cross-linguistic variation in coordination structures.
Dr. Mitrović was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (2020-2022) for his research on logical particles. His work spans computational modeling of semantic change and contributes to understanding register variation in Indo-European languages.
