Mordechai Feingold is the Kate Van Nuys Page Professor of the History of Science and the Humanities at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He earned his B.A. (1972), M.A. (1976) from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and D.Phil. (1980) from the University of Oxford. He served as a Visiting Associate Professor at Caltech in 1994 before becoming a full Professor from 2002 to 2019 and retaining his current title since 2019.
- Research Focus: Intellectual and institutional history of science (Renaissance to 18th century), examining how modern science reshaped Western culture into a secular, fragmented, and technologically driven society.
- Affiliations: Caltech's Research Institute for the History of Science and Technology (RIHST) and The Huntington; Former President, International Commission for the History of Universities (2005–2020).
Scientific Awards:
- Fellow, Charles Warren Center, Harvard University (2001–02)
- Fellow, International Academy of History and Philosophy of Science (2011–present)
