Moon Sajid is an Adjunct Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia, affiliated with the School of Biological Sciences, School of Molecular Sciences, and ARC Centre for Plant Energy Biology. Their research focuses on plant molecular biology with emphasis on flavonoid and isoflavonoid biosynthesis pathways.
Moon Sajid's educational background includes an MS in Molecular Biology with research on 'Identification from Zea mays and Characterization of L through DNA Microarray under Different Abiotic Stresses' (awarded May 31, 2017) and an MSc in Microbiology focusing on 'EVALUATION OF AUXIN PRODUCING BACILLUS SPP. IN ALLEVIATION OF WATER STRESS OF ZEA MAYS L.' (awarded August 28, 2015).
Their research interests span molecular biology, plant science, and bioengineering, with particular focus on protein modeling, enzyme catalysis, and heterologous synthesis of plant compounds. The research fingerprint shows strong engagement with anabolism (100%), flavonoids (71%), protein modeling (66%), synthase enzymes (66%), and isoflavonoids (66%).
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in developing computational models of biosynthetic enzymes, understanding substrate specificity mechanisms, and engineering metabolic pathways for sustainable production of plant compounds. Their work shows a clear trajectory toward applying molecular techniques to solve challenges in green biotechnology.
