Montathar Pharaoh is an Assistant Professor of Informatics at the Faculty of Economics and serves as a Meritorious Teacher in the Department of Design. He holds a teaching degree in computer science, psychology, and pedagogy, a master's in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and University of North Carolina-Greensboro, and a PhD from Stockholm University where he researched democratic engagement through co-creative media.
His research bridges artificial intelligence, design research, and educational technology, with focus areas including:
- AI applications in learning and design education
- Human-computer interaction and co-creative media
- Democratic participation through digital tools
- Web/mobile application development
His recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on AI in educational contexts, exploring student cognition, teacher training, and cross-cultural technology adoption patterns. He received the 'Meritorious Teacher' award for pedagogical excellence.
