Prof. Dr. Monika Linhart is a Professor of Nursing Science at the German University of Health and Sport, Department of Health (Ismaning campus). She holds a PhD in Nursing Science from the University of California, San Francisco (2005) and a Diploma in Nursing Management (FH) from Frankfurt/Main University of Applied Sciences (1998). Her research focuses on gerontological nursing science, evidence-based practices, nursing diagnoses, and qualitative research methodologies. She has held academic roles including Lecturer at Bern University of Applied Sciences (2017–2021) and Adjunct Professor at Fachhochschule St. Pölten, Austria (2016–2018). Her work emphasizes digitalization in healthcare, professional care development, and nursing innovation.
Her research spans topics such as elderly safety technology, midwifery diagnostics, and continuity of care interventions. She contributed to the Bavarian Center for Digital Care and co-developed the GRIPS electronic health record system. Prof. Linhart’s recent publications explore the role of technology in nursing practice and elderly care decision-making processes. She has authored a seminal book on maintaining independence in aging populations and guided best practice guidelines for patient care techniques.
Her professional history includes clinical roles as a nurse in Munich’s university hospitals (1989–1994) and freelance teaching at various institutions (2006–2014). She actively participates in interdisciplinary research teams and has pioneered nursing terminology frameworks for clinical practice.
