Monika Cserjan

Monika Cserjan is a leading senior scientist at the Institute of Bioprocess Science and Engineering, part of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, with over two decades of expertise in bioprocess engineering and recombinant protein production in Escherichia coli. Her career spans roles as Project Leader at the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB) and leadership in the CD Laboratory for biopharmaceutical production.

• Research Focus: Upstream process development for recombinant peptides/proteins and plasmid DNA, fusion protein technology in E. coli, advanced process characterization, and non-canonical amino acid incorporation for improved biopharmaceuticals.
