Monica Uddin

Monica Uddin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She holds additional affiliations as a Faculty Affiliate at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology and as a member of the Neuroscience Program.

Her research investigates the intersection of genetics, epigenetics, and psychiatric disorders, particularly focusing on:

• Genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying stress-related mental illnesses
• Predictive modeling of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Neurobiological pathways connecting environmental stressors to mental health outcomes

Monica Uddin actively contributes to interdisciplinary research through her affiliations with genomic biology and neuroscience initiatives at the University of Illinois.
