Monica Otto is an Associate Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management, Bocconi University, specializing in the Government, Health, and Not-for-Profit sector. She has held leadership roles, including Director of the Master in Public Management (2010-2013) and Executive Master of Management in International Organizations (2015-2016), and currently directs Executive Education in Health, Government, and Non-Profit. She coordinates the Pharmaceutical Observatory at CERGAS and teaches pharmaceutical policy and management in specialized programs like MIMS and MIHMEP.
- Education: Degree in Public Administration and International Institutions Management (CLAPI), Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management from Bocconi University.
Her research focuses on pharmaceutical economics, healthcare policy, business-government relations, and market access. She analyzes pharmaceutical pricing, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder engagement in healthcare systems.
Monica's recent publications examine value-based pricing frameworks, pharmaceutical funding evolution in Italy, managed entry agreements, and cost containment strategies. Her work spans journals like Health Policy, European Journal of Health Economics, and Health Policy and Technology.
She collaborates with pharmaceutical companies on policy and management projects and has presented at conferences including AIES, ISPOR, and EHMA. Monica also contributes to educational initiatives at the European University of Market Access (Emaud) in Paris.
