Monica Brignardello is a Full Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Genoa's School of Social Sciences. She specializes in Maritime and Transport Law (GIUR-02/B) and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Center of Excellence for Logistics, Transport, and Infrastructure (CIELI), as well as the Library Board for her school.
Her research focuses on legal frameworks governing maritime and transport sectors, including EU transport infrastructures, multimodal logistics, and sustainability in transport technology. Recent work explores compensation limits for cruise operators, liability in travel cancellations, and emerging topics like urban air mobility.
Brignardello teaches Transport Law and Navigation Law at both undergraduate and master’s levels. She coordinates a Jean Monnet Module on EU transport infrastructures, multimodality, sustainability, and technology. Her publications address maritime contractual liability, air travel compensation, and maritime-commercial legal codes.
