Monica Bourke is an Associate Professor at Samuel Merritt University, where she teaches Nursing Science and Leadership in the RN to BSN Program. She concurrently serves as Manager of Education Operations at Dignity Health in Sacramento, overseeing Continuing Medical Education strategies aligned with quality and safety initiatives. Holding an MSN and RN credentials, she also earned a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts.
Her teaching and scholarly interests focus on Wellness, Integrative Healing Arts, Leadership development, and fostering Interprofessional Teams. She actively promotes the incorporation of patient/family perspectives into healthcare education, emphasizing collaborative practice models.
Publications include influential posters on organizational culture transformation and patient-family advisory roles in clinical education. She volunteers as a national surveyor for the Joint Accreditation and ACCME, contributing to standards in continuing professional development. Her work bridges clinical practice, education, and accreditation, driving systemic improvements in healthcare training.
