Monica B. Glina

Monica B. Glina, Ed.D., M.A. serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Medicine. She also directs the Academy of Medical Educators and the Medical Education Area of Concentration.

• Education: Ed.D. in Pedagogy from Montclair State University; M.A. in Applied Linguistics and B.A. in English from Boston University

Dr. Glina's research focuses on democratic pedagogy, teacher education, and qualitative research, with expertise in classroom discourse, dialogic teaching, and argument literacy. She has led multiple education-focused grants addressing curriculum design, assessment, and discourse coaching.

Her grants include projects sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), Spencer Foundation, and John Templeton Foundation, emphasizing teacher development, character education, and systems evaluations of classroom talk. She also teaches foundational and advanced courses in medical education.
