Dr. Mona Jaber is a Senior Lecturer in Internet of Things (IoT) at Queen Mary University of London's School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. Her research focuses on IoT, machine learning, and digital twins for sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly in smart cities, intelligent transportation systems, and energy efficiency. She leads the Digital Twins for Sustainable Development Goals lab, established in 2023, which integrates IoT, AI, and digital twins for SDG-related innovation.
Her recent work includes a £506k EPSRC grant for the DASMATE project, leveraging Distributed Acoustic Sensors (DAS) for modeling active travel trends. She teaches courses on microprocessor systems and signals and systems through a joint program with BUPT. Her academic contributions span over 50 peer-reviewed publications, including a top-cited IEEE Access paper on cellular networks.
Dr. Jaber advises multiple PhD students and actively participates in IEEE committees, including the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) and the Emerging Technology Initiative (ETI-BNC). Her research bridges technical innovation with societal impact, addressing challenges in smart energy, healthcare privacy, and sustainable urban mobility.
