Molly Sundberg is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Anthropology, Stockholm University, where she also serves as Director of Studies for the Bachelor’s Programme in Global Development. Her research focuses on development, aid, governance, and security, with a regional emphasis on African studies.
- Key research projects:
- Current Swedish Research Council-funded work on for-profit aid and development contracting (2020-2024)
- Prior Swedish Research Council project on locally recruited development experts in Tanzania (2017-2020)
Her teaching covers development studies, conflict studies, and anthropological methods, informed by her field experience in post-genocide Rwanda (PhD research) and four years working for the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) in Stockholm and Kigali prior to her academic career.
