Molly Land is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Catherine Roraback Professor of Law at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Her expertise spans international human rights, international law, intellectual property (IP), law and technology, and conflicts of law.

Professor Land’s scholarship focuses on the intersection of human rights, science, technology, and innovation. She authored the book New Technologies for Human Rights Law and Practice (CUP 2018, ed. with Jay Aronson) and develops interdisciplinary frameworks to address harmful online speech while balancing freedom of expression and privacy.
Her articles appear in the Connecticut Law Review, Yale Journal of International Law, Harvard International Law Journal, and others. She has contributed to human rights reports, including a World Bank report on technology’s role in promoting human rights.
Notable honors include the Fulbright Scholar award at the University of Bonn. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Network Initiative and the AAAS Committee on Scientific Freedom and Responsibility.
Prior to UConn, she was an associate professor at New York Law School, an IP and cyberlaw litigator at Faegre & Benson LLP, and a fellow at Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights. She clerked for Judge Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
