Molly Grace is a Senior Research Lead at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Biology and the Oxford Interdisciplinary Centre for Conservation Science. She previously held roles as a Biology Fellow at Wadham College (2020–2022) and a Lecturer in Ecology and Conservation (2022–2024). Currently, she leads the Oxford-Accounting for Nature partnership, focusing on global environmental accounting standards for nature conservation.
Grace serves as Co-Chair of the IUCN Green Status of Species Task Force, which developed the IUCN Green Status of Species—a standardized method to measure species recovery and conservation impact. Her collaborative work extends to partnerships with Re:Wild, WCS, ZSL, WWF, National Geographic, and the Cambridge Conservation Initiative.
Research interests include:
- Species recovery assessment frameworks
- Impact evaluation of conservation interventions
- Anthropogenic threats to phylogenetic and functional diversity
- Historical ecology applications
- Standardized environmental accounting
Recent publications (2023–2025) emphasize:
- Global and species-specific recovery metrics
- Threat synergies in herpetofauna
- Life history trade-offs in demographic resilience
- Methodological rigor in impact evaluation
- Adaptations of the Green Status framework
- Historical data for conservation targets
Grace’s work bridges academic research and policy implementation, with a focus on transparent, data-driven conservation science.
