Mokhtar Mahmoud

Mokhtar Mahmoud, PhD is a Researcher at the Department of Glass Processing within the FunGlass Centre at Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, Slovakia. His work focuses on innovative approaches to glass processing and recycling, with particular emphasis on environmental applications.

Dr. Mahmoud earned his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the FunGlass Centre, Slovakia, and University of Padova, Italy in 2023, with a thesis titled "Second Life of Waste Glasses: Application of Glass Microspheres in Advanced 3D Glass Structures". He previously completed his Master's Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University in 2017.

His research spans multiple areas of materials science with a focus on glass microsphere fabrication, waste glass recycling, and additive manufacturing techniques including stereolithography, direct ink writing, and fused deposition modeling. Dr. Mahmoud specializes in developing glass-based solutions for environmental remediation and medical applications through alkali activation processes that transform waste materials into functional products.

His publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on creating photocatalytic scaffolds, advanced dye sorbents, and porous structures with applications in pollutant removal. The work bridges materials science, environmental engineering, and advanced manufacturing, with particular emphasis on methylene blue adsorption and dye degradation technologies.
