Dr. Mohammed Alawad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University's College of Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida (2016) and previously served as a Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

His research focuses on energy-efficient and high-performance computing, privacy-aware and secure AI, and AI systems/algorithms. He leads the Accelerated, Energy-Efficient, and Secure Intelligent Computing (AESIC) Lab, specializing in AI acceleration, hardware design, and security against adversarial attacks. Applications span biomedical informatics, natural language processing, IoT, and big data analytics.
