Mohammad Saleem is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and Numerical Analysis at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, San Jose State University (SJSU), affiliated with the College of Science. He joined SJSU in 1990 after teaching at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. His research focuses on Numerical Analysis, Computational Aerodynamics, and Mathematical Fluid Dynamics. He has conducted research at NASA-Ames Research Center as an Ames Associate and contributed to CAMCOS projects, including work on the Fokker-Plank Equation. He is actively involved in enhancing student success through pre-calculus and calculus workshops since 2008.
Research interests include computational methods for fluid dynamics, linear algebra applications, and mathematical modeling in aerodynamics. He remains active in academic communities, presenting at conferences in the U.S. and internationally as a member of MAA and SIAM.
Professional contributions extend to collaborative research projects and educational initiatives. His teaching spans courses like Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Numerical Analysis. Office hours are held Monday-Thursday 9am–12:30pm and 1:30pm–4pm, and Friday 9am–12:30pm.
