Mohammad Mubarak serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington since 2009, maintaining active research and academic engagement. Previously, he held significant leadership roles at The University of Jordan including Chairman of the Chemistry Department and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science.
He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington in 1982 under Professor Dennis G. Peters.
Professor Mubarak's research program centers on synthetic organic chemistry with specialized focus on designing compounds for biological applications. His work spans medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, and electrochemistry, aiming to develop novel therapeutic agents through targeted molecular synthesis. This interdisciplinary approach bridges chemical engineering and pharmaceutical sciences to address unmet medical needs.
With over 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, his scholarly output demonstrates sustained productivity. He has mentored 40 graduate students through thesis and dissertation supervision, reflecting his commitment to academic training. Additionally, he contributes to scholarly discourse as an editorial board member for multiple scientific journals.
