Mohammad Khaleel is an Adjunct Professor affiliated with the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently serves as Associate Laboratory Director for Energy and Environmental Sciences at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), overseeing critical research addressing national scientific challenges. Previously, he held roles including Director at ARPA-E, Executive Director at Qatar Foundation’s Energy and Energy Research Institute, and Laboratory Fellow at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He also served as Co-Director of the Northwest Institute for Advanced Computing at the University of Washington and taught courses at Washington State University.
His research focuses on advanced materials science, specifically composites, fibers, polymers, and textiles. He has advised numerous MS, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows across his academic affiliations. Dr. Khaleel’s professional network spans national labs, academia, and international institutions, reflecting his interdisciplinary and impactful career in energy and environmental sciences.
