Professor Mohammad Faisal Ahammad is a Professor of International Business & Management and Interim Head of the Department of International Business at Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds. He also serves as Director of the James E. Lynch India & South Asia Business Centre (ISABC), focusing on interdisciplinary sustainability research in South Asia. His expertise includes cross-border M&A, strategic agility, and ESG in South Asian economies.
Dr. Ahammad holds a PhD in International Business from the University of Sheffield, alongside qualifications in Finance and Pedagogy. He previously held roles at Sheffield Hallam University and Nottingham Trent University. His research spans over 50 articles in top journals like International Business Review and Journal of World Business.
His research interests emphasize managing cross-border M&A, organizational ambidexterity, and sustainability challenges specific to South Asia. He has won the IBR 2017 Best Paper Award and the 2021 Leeds Partnership Award for exceptional teaching impact. He currently supervises PhD students Olufemi Aluko and Mohammad Mobarak Hossain.
Prof. Ahammad serves as Associate Editor of Asian Business & Management and sits on editorial boards of Journal of World Business, British Journal of Management, and others. His work bridges theoretical insights with practical implications for multinational enterprises and SMEs in emerging markets.
