Mohammad Al Janaideh is an Assistant Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. He holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan and the University of Toronto. His expertise includes mechatronics, controls, and smart material-based actuators.
Education: M.Sc. and Ph.D. (2005, 2010) in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal. Postdoctoral fellowships at University of Michigan (2013) and University of Toronto (2015).
Research interests focus on mechatronics, nano-positioning, adaptive control, and hysteresis modeling in smart actuators. He has published over 60 papers and served as guest editor for IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. Notable awards include the Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey Award.
His work addresses challenges in cyber-physical systems, including hysteresis compensation, nonlinear dynamics, and robust control strategies. He previously worked as a senior mechatronics engineer at ASML.
