Dr. Mohammad Al-Amri serves as a Principal Research Fellow (Reader) and Postgraduate Research Program Manager at Cardiff University's School of Healthcare Sciences. Originally from Jordan, he has established himself as a leading researcher in virtual reality applications for rehabilitation and movement analysis, with over 15 years of experience spanning multiple continents from the Middle East to Europe.
His research interests focus on translating virtual reality technology into clinical practice, particularly for movement rehabilitation. Dr. Al-Amri specializes in developing sensor-based portable movement analysis systems that help patients with conditions like knee osteoarthritis and Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. His work bridges engineering principles with clinical rehabilitation, creating innovative approaches to assess and improve patient movement patterns through real-time biofeedback.
Dr. Al-Amri's publication record demonstrates a clear progression from foundational work on virtual rehabilitation systems to current research focused on practical clinical implementation. His recent publications emphasize portable technology translation, usability studies, and systematic reviews that guide evidence-based practice in rehabilitation technology.
