Professor Mohamed S. Hamed is a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at McMaster University, Canada. With expertise in Thermo-Fluid Sciences and Renewable Energy, he leads the Thermal Processing Laboratory (TPL) focusing on experimental and computational research in thermal engineering, energy systems, and materials science.
Education:
- B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Alexandria
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Western Ontario (1997)
Research Interests: Thermal processing of materials, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), heat transfer modeling, jet impingement boiling, industrial energy efficiency, and renewable energy integration in Net-Zero Energy Buildings (NZEBs). His lab combines academic rigor with industrial collaboration to solve real-world problems.
Awards: Recipient of two Outstanding Paper Awards from international conferences in 2012 and 2011.
Teaching: Instructor for foundational courses like MECH ENG 3O04: Fluid Mechanics, MECH ENG 4J03: Computational Fluid Mechanics, and advanced graduate courses in fluid dynamics and energy optimization.
