Dr. Mohamed Khamis is Reader in Computing Science at University of Glasgow and leads the SIRIUS Lab research group. He holds a PhD from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and previously worked at German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI).
Research at intersection of HCI and security includes gaze-based authentication, privacy protection in AR/VR, thermal attack mitigation, and shoulder surfing defenses. Recent work focuses on security challenges in emerging technologies like extended reality and IoT.
Secured >£1 million research funding from UK National Cyber Security Centre, EPSRC, and Meta Reality Labs. Co-chairs ACM conferences including ETRA 2024.
Developed novel authentication techniques combining gaze, touch, and gestures for mobile and public displays.
