Mohamed Cherkaoui

Mohamed Cherkaoui is a distinguished academic in sociology, holding a Doctorat d'Etat from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. He has been the Director of the Groupe d'Étude des Méthodes de l'Analyse Sociologique (GEMAS) at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) since 1998, where he has held various research roles since 1976.

His research spans social stratification, mobility, education, epistemology, and social theory, with a focus on methodological rigor and theoretical innovation. He has contributed extensively to scholarly discourse through editorial leadership and international collaborations.

Cherkaoui has received significant recognition for his work, including membership in Academia Europaea and the European Academy of Sociology. He has also served as an expert for Moroccan governmental bodies and international organizations like the UNDP.
