Mohamad Hamady

Professor Mohamad Hamady serves as Professor of Practice in Interventional Radiology at the Department of Surgery & Cancer, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. Appointed as Consultant and Senior Lecturer in 2003, he was promoted to Professor in 2019 and maintains active clinical and academic roles at St Mary's Campus.

His educational trajectory began with medical graduation in 1998, followed by surgical training, interventional radiology specialization at American University of Beirut and King’s College London (2001), and clinical research at Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital. His research portfolio centers on robotic vascular interventions, VR simulation training, aortic stent grafting, and advanced embolisation techniques, notably pioneering world-first robotic procedures in endovascular aortic intervention (2008), fibroid embolisation (2012), and prostate artery embolisation (2017).

With over 160 peer-reviewed publications and 14 book chapters, his scholarly output demonstrates consistent leadership in interventional radiology. He has delivered more than 60 keynote lectures internationally in the past five years, reflecting significant influence in the field.

Professor Hamady holds critical leadership positions including Pan London Training Program Director for Interventional Radiology (Health Education England), Secretary of the British Society of Interventional Radiology, Chair of IDEAS 2020 Scientific Committee, and Vice Chair of CIRSE Endovascular Section. His advisory work with NICE on pulmonary embolism and menstrual bleeding management further underscores his clinical impact.
