Moataz Elmassri is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Roehampton, affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Law and the Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management. He holds a PhD in Accounting (University of Roehampton, 2015), an MSc in Accounting and Finance (De Montfort University), and a BSc in Accounting (Zagazig University). His research focuses on strategic investment decisions, management control systems, sustainability, and corporate governance.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Management Accounting Techniques, Accounting for Decision Making, and Financial Statement Analysis. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence of Teaching Award (2019) and Best Teacher Awards (2017, 2020).
His research collaborations span institutions like Aalto University (Finland) and Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand). Key projects include ICAEW-funded studies on performance measurement in strategic investment decisions. Recent publications explore sustainability strategies in Unilever PLC, management controls in family businesses, and green decision-making in corporations.
Elmassri actively contributes to academic activities, serving as a peer reviewer for journals like the International Journal of Accounting and Information Management and presenting at conferences such as the Management Control Association (MCA) event in 2023.
