Mitzie Grant, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine. She serves as Director of the Pediatric Neuropsychology Service at Drexel Psychiatry and Drexel Pediatrics, affiliated with St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Her clinical work focuses on neuropsychological evaluations for neurological, neurocognitive, and neurodevelopmental disorders in children.
Dr. Grant holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and a BS from the University of Oklahoma. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Affiliated Hospitals. Her research explores neurocognitive and neurobehavioral outcomes in individuals with congenital and acquired medical conditions, particularly phenylketonuria (PKU).
Her publications span PKU management, executive function assessment in PKU patients, and neuropsychiatric comorbidities in PKU adults. She has also contributed to studies on HIV-exposed youth and sleep apnea in sickle cell disease. Dr. Grant frequently presents at conferences and educational events, emphasizing PKU brain-behavior relationships and neurocognitive assessments in pediatric care.
Her clinical and academic roles are based at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a key academic site for Drexel University College of Medicine.
